Photoshop Practice [Practice 365] - The Angel Slayer

Inspired by and followed the tutorial "CREATE A MYSTICAL RISING ANGEL PHOTO MANIPULATION IN PHOTOSHOP" by Michael Vincent Manalo.

I followed Michael's tutorial to complete this piece as a practice to create a heavenly atmosphere in Photoshop.

However, I replaced character at the left hand side from a civilian to a swordwoman, now the heavenly ascending scene turned in to a boss fighting scene of RPG. (grim)

I added the shadow under the swordwoman's feet, and distorted the shadow according to the shape of the stair. I also used inner glow for on the swordwoman's layer to get the more natural light effect.

Furthermore, I add one more layer of overlay blending to enhance the contrast of light and shadow and make the picture more vivid.

To me, the points of this practice are:

1. The perspective angles of the elements in the picture. For example, the background and the sowrdwoman.
2. The usage of the solid color adjustment layer and gradient map layer with luminosity blending mode  to tone the color and light of the picture.
3. Flattened the image and blurred it, then placed it with blending mode screen above all the layers to soften the light and make the pixels more delicate.
